Procedure Veneers are conservative of tooth restructuring. Usually only about 0.5 mm. of facial reduction is needed, because this is confined to the enamel layer, local anesthesia is not usually required.
Indications for porcelain laminated veneers
1. Discolored teeth.
2. Teeth with enamel defects and unsatisfactory teeth color.
3 Teeth with spacing
4. Teeth that are worn.
5. Teeth that are not aligned.
Temporization:
Temporization is not usually needed because thermal shock and color or contour changes are minimal with veneer preparation. In some cases white filling material can be used for temporization.
Cement Fixation:
Porcelain veneers are made of high-strength ceramics which is fixed to the enamel of the teeth with resin cement. The resin cement is very powerful because of the chemical bonding between the porcelain and enamel. There are several translucent color shades available to appropriately achieve optimal veneer color matching to suit you.
